Kristen Berchtold is a Certified Fundraising Executive with over 30 years of experience in not-for-profit marketing, public relations, and fundraising.  She most recently served as Director of Development for Phoenix Community Development Services for five years. In this role she lead the agency’s fund development, communications, and volunteer management efforts focused on securing resources, building community awareness, and implementing successful events. Eight years ago, Kristen developed a new mission focused peer-to-peer fundraising event that has raised nearly $600,000 since its inception. In spite of a global pandemic, this event raised over $100,000 in 2021.  An experienced grant writer and effective fundraiser, Kristen has secured millions of dollars for non-profit organizations throughout her career. 

Kristen holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Marketing from Bradley University and believes that powerful communications are essential to resource development. She is an expert at crafting messaging to communicate impact in a way that motivates donors and supporters to act. She has led two non-profit organizations through very successful, complete rebranding processes that included adoption of a new corporate name, tagline, logo, and other brand elements. She secured extensive pro bono professional marketing support for both efforts and the results were brands that more effectively communicate the current scope of the agencies’ work while honoring their rich histories and truly reflecting the aspirations, hopes and dreams of those served.
